Game 5: Minnesota

Golden Gophers 20 Michigan 14

Michigan is just a bad team. We'll get into that.

Most importantly, the game was live on a, can't say the name, video site. Now I am "enjoying" it from nfl-video.

Come on, these guys have ROW on their helmets! PJ Fleck is a really weird guy in images, but he is a good coach and nice to people and usually what he says and does is articulate. Save for his wife and kids this was his greatest day. Gosh damn, Whittingham, you don't understand.

I'm watching the replay on Sundays as is immutable.  7-7 well into the first half. The last play featured a shoulder to shoulder moving offensive line and a short incomplete rollout pass.  Now there were four different offensive linemen on the left with another rollout incompletion to the right; was it the same play?

Earlier, similar to Iowa ran and moved the ball well, like Iowa, and got nothing, also like Iowa.  Before the punt there was one DE with one right arm and Underwood threw right into it. That make three easy passes with nothing and...  There's Daley.  I started the day Googling injury report rules and why Daley and Nichols were not on it. Both played but recorded no tackles or stats per the ESPN box score.  Anyway, that is a common comment about Bryce Underwood--he doesn't see the field and doesn't use the noggin.

Lindsey did the same easy pass to the short right and completed it. Checks on Lindsey: he has been at MN for three years and pretty good. That is what you are supposed to do these days, play a veteran quarterback. Underwood might be good in a couple of years, but this vision thing is something he needs to be taught.

J. Hill just missed a tackle.  J. Lea'ea another missed tackle.  I'm not going to mention staff because it is 100% on Whittingham; Michigan is not detailed, experienced, opportunistic, dedicated...  you choose the word.

Awfully repetitive, smashing Lindsey with a linebacker, but it worked Staehling with a nice pick 6.

It is Michigan 14-7. Two interceptions and Michigan is in the lead.

Snowden Smith is not a good cornerback, at least on that interference call.

Bad teams find a way to lose. BTW, Oklahoma is not a great team and UTEP is among the worst. Underwood should have thrown the ball away instead of taking a sack with seconds left.  Earlier there was a penalty and time out issue.
