Going in, Michigan vs. Texas Tech appears to be extremely closely matched. I think that favors Michigan because of their 3-point attack (i.e, more points).
CORRECTION. Four of five Texas Tech starters are over 30% from 3. This is a tough match-up. I don't know what will happen.
The one wild card is Jarrett Culver. If he dominates the Red Raiders win.
Chris Beard, I guess, is a good coach but he is associated with Bobby Knight.
Charles Matthews on Culver will be key. But as always, the Zavier Simpson-Jon Teske duo is a "plus" for Michigan. Those two have the size--big and small--and experience That's why...
Michigan 65 Texas Tech 61 (Prediction).

The actual game.
The score is 6-6. at 10 minutes. Long wait--10 PM on the East Coast--and it is tough for 20-year olds. Stress and tension.
Bullet Points:
- The Tech defense is tough. Very. Michigan is missing contested shots and is on pace for over 20 turnovers.
Michigan is on pace to score about 20 points. Disaster so far. If they cannot hit 3's (0/7) they will lose. Still close, 13-10 (5:06) because Michigan is almost as tough on defense.
Twenty turnovers and 20 points is not a good game.
Texas Tech is hacking Teske; he is an advantage. Michigan still only down 4 (20-16).
24-16 at half. Texas Tech extended it. Horrible. Michigan made 7 2-point baskets and 2/4 free throws (Teske).
Coaching? Texas Tech is player hard and arguably harder. Michigan has not made offensive adjustments.
Second Half
Ouch.
I don't want to listen to the bonehead analysts. Nor do I want to see commercials with them.
It is 34-18 and Michigan is getting killed. Charles Mathews with a couple of turnovers...
Simpson still has not scored; he is driving and just throwing the ball toward the basket. 36-18.
Michigan is trying. They do not give up. There is still 13 minutes left and they could come close. But they are 0-12 from 3; Texas Te
The Red Raiders continue to hit occasionally (5 3's).
