Indiana

[Hailtv is the place to go for vids these days.  I have tried to watch the game for several days.  At least at home and days later you can avoid the stretchers and there is always hope that it is precautionary.  This is a good one too.  I wanted to watch the defense, particularly after the Winowich injury, and it is sometimes easier in just the highlights to pay attention to the defense.

Have you ever had a car that was really dependable and one day it breaks?  You are stranded and you don't know what is broken.  Then it turns out to be a major, lingering problem.  The car is never the same.

It is hard to tell if they are double-teaming him or what the scheme is, but Rashan Gary was all over.  It was back to the way it used to be.  It must have been weird for the whole defense because it was the first time in about two years he wasn't there.

I recall Brian Cook writing once that Winovich never comes out.

Chris Evans is a tough small for football guy.]

I kept saying to myself "Let it be targeting, let it be targeting."

I saw the guy jump on Winowich.  I did not see the next dirty play that was penalized.  The shot to Berkely Edwards was illegal.

That's right, against the rules.

Oh, and then there was kicking the ball against a hurry-up offense.

And honestly, I was also thinking how great it is that players have learned to avoid penalties like targeting.  Josh Metallus and, earlier in their careers, Devin Bush trained themselves to avoid it.  Probably it has to do with the indignity, but also it is about missing most of one game.

Indiana, as a team, they do not buy it.  They play dirty.  The stand-out events in this one put them on a level with Michigan State.  Purdue does it too.

When it happens multiple times it is not individuals, it is a team.

Earlier in the week I read Seth (which I rarely do) and he mentioned how he likes Indiana.  They had the balls to fire Kevin Wilson and I used to think I admired them too.  Recently there was another no-nonsense action.

Some individuals at the flagship university for the entire state of Indiana have the best intentions, but Tom Allen and Indiana football do not.

They are a dirty team.

Earlier in the day it was spectacular.  Michigan State lost.  Ohio State should have lost; I saw most of the game and I think Maryland deserved to win.  Urbz is a detached and scary man.  I feel for him.  Tom Allen is a pig but at least he hugged and interacted with the team.  Urban Meyer is a bully and everyone is scared of him.

In the aftermath it will be fun to Google "indiana michigan cheap shots."  There will be some videos and lots of chatter soon.  And I think when a player kicks a ball, intentionally or not, it is a penalty and the half cannot end.

P.S.  I wrote no prediction or preview for Indiana.  I figured Michigan would win by about two scores and they did.
