It was not dominant or even pretty, unless you look closely. That would be the blocked kicks, beautiful throws and catches, and usually-stifling defense. It was 31-0 a bit into the second quarter before things went the other way at all. Just the tiniest bit of a slackoff?
Watching the Harbaugh team develop is fascinating. Jehu Chesson and Amara Darboh make it look so easy this was a scarier display than relentless pounding and running. You have to be able to win in different ways because you have to win over the long haul.
But it was disappointing, it didn't meet expectations, and it wasn't fun to watch live. Apparently, for many in the stadium, it didn't fulfill their kill-now instincts.
The real let-down was the missing stars: Jordan Lewis, Taco Charlton, Bryan Mone, and Drake Johnson. It must be different knowing Lewis is back there.
The game, in terms of the score, was never in doubt. Scott Frost, he of Stanford-to-Nebraska-to-Oregon fame is unusually boisterous, and those things usually come back to haunt, but the score was never...
