Reload

I am a little late this Sunday morning.  I have Fotis Dulos on the brain.

When I first found the game online the still shot said 31-20.  Wow!  How?  Now it is 31-30 Michigan at halftime.

Earlier in the week there was a big overtime win over Purdue.  Now Purdue slams Michigan State 61-40 or something like that.  66-40.

The big news this week, aside from the fact that Michigan is now left with 3 upperclassmen on the football roster, is John Beilein.  Beilein screwed a lot of people when he left the basketball team with a) a thin, lightweight roster and b) Austin Davis still on it.

This week he buffoonerized himself by confusing "thug" with "slug," not even knowing it, and then meekly apologizing one on one with each millionaire on his team.

A quick look at the standings at the time showed the Cleveland Cavaliers about 20 games out of first place and likely to not win half their games and make the playoffs.

Robbie Hummel is/was pretty cool.  Wait a minute, he played for Purdue.  Michigan is playing Petino and Minnesota at Minnesota.

How do you stop, what is his name?  You play better than him.  Bigger, better, stronger, faster.  That is how.  Oturu.

Geez.  Minnesota is 8-7.

We'll get back to that.  In the meantime, the question is, How do you stay competitive in college athletics?  You reload.  That is where John Beilein was stubborn as usual.

You don't blame Jordan Poole, you reload.

Watch.  Next year Michigan's football recruiting class will be 40 strong.

This Oturu guy is hopping all over the court.  Juwan warned us but it is not an excuse; they look tired.  Teske looks tired.  Call it what you want:  Michigan's defense is not good.

Teske is tired because Austin Davis is terrible.  Colin Castleton?  If you are a big man you have to play like a big man.

Let's take a look at the lineup.   Michigan has 5 players:  Simpson, Teske, Johns, Brooks, and Wagner.

Teske only has one personal, which he just received.  He has 2 rebounds.  Michigan's offense consists of throwing the ball to Teske in the post and then back outside for a missed 3.

Where the hell is the up tempo fast pace?

Brandon Johns grabbed the ball cleanly and strongly and Oturu went down bad.

Pause.  Oturu is out.  Minnesota does not look like a great (or real good) team to me.  But if you post up Zavier Simpson under the basket you are going to succeed.

David DeJulius.  He is capable.  I wonder where he has been.   I know, I know, it is an oxymoron.  If you rely on Simpson sky hooks you will fail.

Teske is so tired he now has 3 fouls.  Davis is in at center.  I am going to get a sandwich.

Home made, recipe coming soon.

And we're back.  Pizza took a little longer.  The question is, did Oturu come back?  Teske has 4.  Davis is ugly.

Daniel Oturu has 30.

I don't think it is an advantage for a basketball player to not have a jump shot.  (Simpson.)  Juwan is doing a good job this year.  Michigan, especially without Livers, is weak but they play hard and do not give up.  There are signs of strategy, they are just not very good.

Wagner just took an awful shot from 40 feet.  It is hard to believe that Michigan doesn't have a couple of guys who can play forward, bang inside, play defense and make a few shots.  Same goes for wing guys and shooters.

L 67-75.
