Wisconsin at M live blog

Wisconsin at Michigan live blog

My God, a hook and foul.  Happ on the bench and Matthews right on Davison...  Interesting, Davison is go-to guy without Happ.  Matthews just disintegrating with second straight dumb foul.  Michigan is ahead but it is ugly.  Is Iggy even playing?  Put Livers in.

It all goes to prove that this team would be nothing without Z.  I hope David DeJulius is good.

That is about the fourth key putback basket Wisconsin has made.

Davison is taking Matthews.  Reuvers is beating Michigan one on one also.

I can see what Beilein is doing.  Iggy was still out there even though he isn't doing anything (except fouling); it is (was) kind of the same with Matthews (second 2 made, posting up on someone).  NO BENCH.  Playing with fire.  Wisconsin is too good.  He cannot play Davis or even Johns; they would feast.  The officials have really cracked-down on Davison antics this game yet Wisconsin is right there.

Iowa, I don't know why they won or why they stormed the court.  State and Maryland we haven't seen.  Wisconsin is the best so far this season.

Same goes:  Simpson with an off the ball foul on Brad Davison.  Jordon Poole displays some cheap antics too.  It is not entirely one-sided.

The TV paused (firstrowsports).  It was either a layup by Happ or a foul by Teske.  ESPN.  It was a layup and a foul.  Oh, that's right, hapless at the free throw line.

Say what you will...  Teske (17) is the leading scorer so far.

At this point (3 minutes), Beilein is conservative with a 3-point lead.  Play Livers over Iggy.  But he is coach and there must be a reason.  I think, Iggy, you can say what you want about prep school, but he is still a young player.

Big block by livers.  Davison is good; he is right on Poole.  One minute up 5.

45.8 and the only choice is to foul Z.  One to give.  Poole ball handling.  Very close but Charles made it.  Second time this season the clock in his head was accurate.

The final score is not indicative of how close it was.  Phew.  61-52.

Coach did a really good job of conserving the players.

Hit the jump for the first half.

Early in the game, Michigan turnovers.  And Michigan is doing nothing to stop Ethan Happ.  He is boring.  He is ugly.  If you do not stop him you are going to lose.  Teske cannot stop him, and he will not foul because that would be worse.  Also, Michigan missed easy shots.

Trice hits 3.  Davison called for blocking.  Z has to take control.  And Poole has to score.

That was beautiful, Chuck on the baseline stuff.  No, mistake.  Again, Michigan offensive foul and turnover.

It is a good game.  High intensity.  Michigan is tight.  They look like they could be winning but they are falling farther behind.  Check the stats; Michigan only has one foul, Poole.  Maybe Charles was out of bounds.

Another Michigan offensive mistake or foul, Teske.  Davison clapping.  Weird officiating; Livers a foul for standing under the basket on a WI slam.  Tight officiating; they seem well aware of the tricks on the part of both teams.

Game tied.  This is what we didn't see in the first game:  Michigan defense.

It is hard game to watch.  Michigan is trying but they are over-excited.  They are making mistakes and missing tons of easy shots.

Wisconsin is missing from outside or they would be ahead by 10.  Michigan's defense helps and they are not giving up, but if a couple more had fallen Michigan would be behind.

Halftime please come.  Michigan 9/21 FG.  Iggy a culprit again.  Charles Matthews:  when he scores Michigan wins.  Teske and Poole are keeping them in it.  Happ is scoring though.  Z is basically toying with them---whoever is covering him is a step behind, especially Davison---but he is not scoring a lot.  He is the key and he is playing well.

Tied.  Tough break on WI tap-in to even it.

EDIT.  I understand they still call Z X.
