The footbal team

McElwain’s background is coaching quarterbacks, wide receivers and special teams

Source not important.  More to come.

I'll cave.  How the Atlanta Journal Constitution picked this up I have no idea.  I disagree.

Eastern Washington state and Montana are fertile recruiting grounds!  Just kidding.  But Florida is.  More to the point, Michigan could use a little sunshine and someone who is slightly more easygoing, albeit probably not for very long.  Jim Harbaugh and the football atmosphere can be improved?  This could be a great start.

For Tim Drevno and Pep Hamilton, if Jim McElwain really is the offensive coordinator, they will adapt.  Michigan values QB play, is amassing a stable, and a coach makes sense.  Wide receivers and special teams, nepotism aside--who said that!--is obvious.  For Drevno, concentrate on the offensive line or else.

More, from here:

perhaps this will galvanize the team to achieving greater things together moving forward
It sure would be nice to find more smart Michigan writing but this isn't it.  The above quote appears to be a lose-end contradicting everything else the writer has to say.  Michigan has not offered Doug Nussmeier a(nother) job so I don't think that is going to be an issue.

But I live in Colorado so I know!  It does seem as though he was never long for Colorado State and his SEC ways translated into successful but not eye-popping seasons.

It is hard to say why "Mac" imploded at Florida.  The death threat exit has never been fully explained.  Starting a season with 10 suspended players was never going to work well; the credit card crimes are still unprecedented in terms of a campus, football team conspiracy and McElwain cannot be blamed.  I will say it appeared he continued to recruit the same types of Georgia and Florida players, but the team was a mess.  The talent makes your mouth water, but that is a really tough job.

Per Wiki he is Michigan's offensive coordinator.

Much more to write about the team.  You like 3-stars, we got 'em!
