Capital One Orange Bowl. It was played in 2016. Floda gonna Floda and make mistakes. Florida State under Jimbo Fisher is not that team. Still, their mistakes kept Michigan in it. Michigan did not give up, came back to take the lead, and could have won. A mistake--a bobbled kick-off and a huge return--was costly. Wilton Speight can be accurate and elusive, and he also left a lot of plays on the field. Chris Evans, in a brief run, was dynamic.
Ohio State at the horseshoe and Michigan is winning pretty big: 17-7. The swing could be 14 more if not for the endzone pick-six and goal line fumble by Speight. There were a couple of bad sacks too. Still, his strong, pinpoint throws, heads-up play, and a few avoided tackles have sustained the Michigan offense. Darboh and Butt will be missed and Grant "One Big Felony Miskake" catches a lot of passes. Peppers was boisterous and a game-changer.
We'll pause there. There's no question, Harbaugh turned it around. There were a lot of seniors, but he takes it to another level. No more big game embarrassments.
They keep saying JT, JT. Why, if Braxton Miller is the quarterback? He is not a great passer and he isn't as good a runner as Miller. Webber, the running back is not that great. Herbstreet is not unbiased but I guess the higher-ranked or home team gets that perk. Ohio State recruiting is "off the charts" (ESPN anonymous coaches) but Michigan is there and getting better. Michigan will always get talent. Harbaugh makes every game a blowout or close.
Speight just threw another bad interception. Harbaugh has started to melt down.
Going back even further there was the ugly game in Iowa City, which included a loss. It is too boring to describe in detail. Sometimes Iowa plays and wins and the rest of the time it looks like Kirk Ferentz belongs in five nursing homes.
In all, Harbaugh and the team melted a bit. Maybe it was too much pressure, some caused by Harbaugh and the rest because the team just wasn't very good in years past. Bittersweet? You could say Harbaugh and staff motivated the seniors and helped a lot of them become professional football players.
