If you look closely, this is not a preview at all. I still think what is posted below will happen again.
But there is always reason for optimism. They are not really youngsters anymore--they know the spotlight--and you never know when something will happen. That is why they play the game, as they say.
The big news this week is Isaiah Todd.
Of course Juwan Howard is in charge and there will be many other opportunities to criticize him. This is a big win for him, for now. There have been a couple of others on the recruiting trail as well, i.e., Franz Wagner and Zeb Jackson staying committed.
This is about Todd. I have never heard of a top player from Raleigh, North Carolina going to Michigan. U of M is not unknown and just about everyone at the very top sees a brighter future elsewhere, immediate future that is. Could be, although we don't quite know yet, he is not looking to be one and done, playing overseas, or an easier path. We will certainly have an opportunity to know more about him.
Just to be clear, this isn't about "the first domino to fall." Michigan is always going to have good players. All it takes is a few really good ones to be a great team. That is, we were always spoiled under Beilein, assuming they play with excellent overall coaching too.
For young Mr. Todd, who is still a high school recruit, it is a bold move. Michigan bball has an outstanding nucleus in Teske and Simpson. For Michigan basketball, his commitment is a nice start to...
Penn State.
