I'm lazy. The pic took me about 30 seconds to find and upload.
These days I'm Googling "Michigan basketball." It comes up Michigan State a lot, but I guess they have earned that.
There is always a big part of my way in coaching and it also is a part of a lot of things these days. I'll say one thing for Harbaugh: right from the start he never, publicly at least, stretched rules or standards. Of course he knew the university culture and he was recruited hard which built his huge power base right from the start, which made it a good fit. Also from what we know, he is a relatively no nonsense disciplinarian, and while he is annoyingly secret about rosters and injuries, after everything is approved and clear he can be forthright.
Beilein too has absolutely built a program within the culture. He too, no question, is powerful and that helps.
Beilein is almost too honest with the same caveat that that is all we see. I'll just say he is a very respectable guy.
More to the point, he has built a power of a basketball program. The news these days is he is out looking for players. Let's start with those arriving, signed, or already on the team. Yikes! Players with potential for sure, but hardly a rebuild.
Going back a year, Iggy is gone; a quick look suggests he is near or in the first round, and you go for that. DeJulius, Castleton, and Johns (the latter a little) can play. Coming back of course are three very good ones in Teske, Simpson, and Livers.
Hopefully Austin Davis will take a breather, transfer, medical, or some other option.
By my count that makes five players. That is not good. But there sure is a lot of opportunity for grad transfers...
