Today we are interviewing michfan, an applicant for the open contributor position.

MGOBLOGGING:  Is that Mitch Fan or Michigan fan?

MICHFAN:  Ha ha.

MGB:  So what do you think of the Big Ten tournament so far?

FAN:  Michigan State is the most contemptible, odious, criminal pile of trash I have ever seen.  Look at them!  Each and every one of them is a felon in his own right.  Who died?  Izzo looks like a mortician at Mardi Gras.  Geez.  He is revered, or should I say tolerated, only because of longevity and acceptance turns to reliance on every conspiracy, rule-breaking, female-abuse plot known to mankind.  It gets worse every year.  Watch, even after a fatal heart attack and he is finally buried in Sicily, they'll name the court after him or something.  Why are they always on, in the same bracket, or league, as Michigan?

MGB:  Idaho is beautiful.  Any time of the year, really.

FAN:  What is with this guy in a sling.  I mean, why isn't he in the hospital?  How can they even let them out of the state?

MGB:  Cassius Winston, Beilein wanted him, no?

FAN:  Yeah well, give it time.  I think his head is going to explode.  It doesn't look healthy.  Regardless, afterward he'll cry.

Up next, Michigan at Nebraska (higher seed) in NYC.

For about 5 minutes in the first half it was like the Maryland game:  stifle them or take it away on defense and score.  The points might be a quick or easy drive to the basket or a 3.  If you come close the threes will break your spirit.

At one point the announcers said "A few more baskets and Nebraska is right in it."  Not true.  That is only if Michigan doesn't score, and Michigan unleashed a barrage of threes for the kill.

Simpson played brilliantly, as did Wagner and Maar.

The boxscore is unique:  Poole 1/9; Simpson 4-4 free throws; MAAR 5-5 3-pointers.  Michigan also missed 12 shots from three and many of them were open.

Nebraska was smart to foul at the end and it didn't work.  But look:  if you leave Duncan Robinson alone at the 3-point line he will make it.  If you defend him he might miss.

Now I remember Tim Miles because, from a distance he looks hispanic (or at least a little out of place).  And his cheerful, relaxed attitude before the game was original.  But his team barely showed-up.

James Palmer's name wasn't mentioned until, well, it would be an exaggeration to say cleanup time.  Ditto Issac Copeland, their big, experienced forward.  Anton Gill, 36 minutes and I never heard of him.

It was weird seeing coach Miles all smiley and happy at the beginning of the game.  It was a first to see Nebraska players in the stands crying before the game was even over.
