The immediate news is Michigan is still playing; they are still playing in the NCAA tournament. Truth be told, they wouldn't be there without Jordan Poole's shot.
They are still playing, both in the tournament and they were still playing in the Big Ten tournament. They've played a bunch more games than almost almost any team and it has been great to watch. That's good because good players want to play in big games.
And that's what can be said for John Beilein--the recruiting is strong and he has a system. With good players they will be a top 20 or much better team. Four Sweet 16 teams in the last 5 years is very good (CORRECTION: somewhere else it says 4 in last 6 years which is still surprising because the players WERE NOT always good); playing for championships is even better.
Madison Square Garden was like a rock concert for the Michigan team. They say "Michigan travels well."
Strange how a 2+ point favorite at a friendly neutral site could be predicted to lose?
