Sign him up at mgoblogging! This is excellent reporting. It is better than 90% of what is out there.
Back when the Hugh Freeze hooker thing broke and he was fired it was fun to watch for news. He was an incredible bonehead. What always attracts attention is how sanctimonious he is on the one hand, yet unquestionably sleazy on the other hand. What led to his immediate firing for cause was how stupid he was. There had to be more texts and cellphone trails out there.
Obviously RebelGrove isn't much of a news outlet; once again, Pat Forde is. Now we can see where Houston Nutt's rage and lawsuit came from.
This does a great job of showing the chronology right before signing day in 2016. There can be no disputing Freeze and cronies had to string things out until signing day and the faxes were received. Or, in Shea Patterson's case, since he was already on campus, he may have done it with an actual signature. And for Patterson, the star quarterback recruit, it only makes sense that he would be in the loop, if not a key leader to influence.
The NCAA is nothing if not slow. When they issue a notice of allegations usually the t's are crossed and i's are dotted. Of course those at 'ol Miss didn't know what the outcome would be but they had to have a pretty fair idea. Anyway, the NCAA was poking around and certainly watching the current class too.
This does a ton to vindicate Shea Patterson and Jim Harbaugh.
Excellent reporting, mgoblog poster!
