On to the next topic.

I am grateful to Mgoblog.

Mgoblog helps fuel recruiting news and that is a big part of the online interest.  Another is roster news--when was the last time we heard about a theft or assault for a basketball player?--often relating to the pros, a legal case, or grades.  Same goes for rivals such as Michigan State and Ohio State.  They manage to cobble together enough paid information with free sites and gossip sources to keep it informative.  Brian and Ace are also very experienced writers, reporters, and bloggers.

To me the news is a link to the players and the team, and to the overall landscape.  Brian and Ace should be very proud to have built that online community.  It is not easy to do.  And all indications are they are successful in radio, retail, and live, in-person in Ann Arbor too.  Congrats.

I'm not even going to get into slow site redesign, same 'ol commenters, or ads for women in Puru.  That really is none of my business as I wouldn't go back there if I didn't want to.

"Whatever" is a rotten response to anything.

Real estate rentals in Ann Arbor are a goldmine because everyone is captive and they have to find a place to live.  The university will only get bigger, as will rents.

Quick with the news but hangers-on nonetheless.

There's always going to be news.  In the coming months there is likely to be more news (and it probably won't include firing Tim Drevno) and hits.  Be happy.  Accept that.  Because in the much bigger world of the University of Michigan you are just a peon.

I read the entire thing. Wow. If all true, what a sick fuck.
But I'll write it again.  He has found a niche; I have no idea what motivates these people to take it so seriously or, put another way, to think it is social.  They do.  It is addicting and there will always be news.  Where he takes the business from here is anyone's guess as it has stayed remarkably the same.  Personally, I think Brian's writing has declined; Ace has maybe grown as a reporter and could take his craft elsewhere.  Oh, and it is still free, and we all can be grateful for that too.

It is so strange that after all this time Brian and Ace gripe about readers, fans, supporters, customers, or whatever you want to call them.  It is pretty obvious a lot of them are going to complain.  So what?
