Win over Air Force

The white house, congress, and most organizations can't do it, but Harbaugh succeeds at secrets and mind games.  We don't know about Ty Isaac or Tarik Black, two important offensive players for Michigan and we probably won't.  There are other options with more ascending players at those positions and if the team is really good they should be able to still beat Purdue.

Black has shown more versatility in routes and is probably Michigan's best receiver right now.  In this game he and Speight combined on a particular one-foot-in catch that showed real promise.  Also against Air Force, Isaac's stats would have been just plain gaudy if not for a few bad penalties.

Typically with Harbaugh, if it is a really serious injury and if everyone is crying and making future plans he will be forthright.  Probably they are healthy kids and they will be back relatively soon.

As Air Force coach Troy Calhoun said, Michigan has been good about 2 1/2 years and that is how long Harbaugh has been there.  "As per usual" more good than bad occurred and it was a fairly solid win.

Calhoun also said Donovan Peoples-Jones had something to do with the punt return TD.  It was brilliant of Harbaugh to put DPJ on punt returns and Kekoa Crawford in for kick-offs starting with the first game.  If they can handle it, let 'em; if you're gonna be in, you may as well be all in.

David Long is another player who is part of the plan and is showing things.  Man, as Calhoun also said, they're all so big and athletic.  Long, I thought he was going to start doing back flips or high jumps.  The west coast transition and all, it is great to see him part of the team.  He seems like not the most rah-rah guy (like Isaac) and that is absolutely fine too.

Zach Gentry is another...

Update.  Harbaugh spoke:

That's a shame because all these overused word ascending players are in addition to the other ascending players.  I'm pretty sure bones heal and it is a long road.  Still, the depth is there.  Another thing Calhoun made note of is the very, very strong Michigan recruiting.  In the end, the game wasn't really that close.
