More on coaching

Pep Hamilton  - Yesterday his Wiki page indicated he is a Michigan assistant.  The Cleveland Browns coach said they expect to keep him.  Harbaugh is apparently already promoting.

Pep's is an unusual and impressive resume:   It is tied to one player (Andrew Luck), he went to Howard (not a football power), and he has held big-time positions in college (with Harbaugh) and the NFL.

Once again, Harbaugh has turned a loss ( Jedd Fisch ) into a gain (Pep).  It was the same with D.J. Durkin to Don Brown and it is darn good management.  Maybe it is (almost) straight from high school or it could be a former college and NFL coordinator, the message is mobility is OK but these are big-time jobs while you're here.

Tim Drevno and Don Brown have both been renewed with huge, five-year contracts.  The message there is we're not going anywhere, especially without the playoffs and Big Ten championships.

As for Michigan as a passing team, they didn't look great against Florida State.

Kevin Wilson - Fired for mistreating players he is apparently the new offensive coordinator at Ohio State.  Who knows the Big Ten East better?  But still.

Wilson's recent history is not pretty.  You know he was warned and you can be certain it was bad, otherwise he wouldn't have left so easily from such a lofty perch.  On the football field his teams survived in a tough division, and so did he.

It casts aspersions going all the way back to Oklahoma.  Remember when Nebraska wasn't a good enough school to join the Big Ten?  This kind of ingrained attitude does not happen overnight.

The real winner, once again, was the athletic director (Fred Glass).  Injuries in football.  Head injuries in football.  Maybe it is something we want to get out in front of.  It is almost like alcohol or cigarette marketing.  Glass is a lawyer and former political appointee and corporate sports executive.

Less Miles.  UPDATE:  Someplace like Western Michigan (similar to Frank Solich) would be perfect and I can never watch another MAC game again until someone goes 13-0.

Still no word from Jabrill.  Update #2:  PR was never his strong suit and that was always the plan.  The names are piling up.  Do I want to get my head bashed now or later?
