Iowa 14 Michigan 13

UPDATE:  Strange times.  Michigan's loss barely affected the CFP rankings.  There are a handful of top teams and they stayed primed for the playoff.  At this moment, Michigan probably doesn't have a path without a Big Ten championship.

No volume, just wanted to see it.  This is not fun.  Neither was wallpapering the visiting locker room.

Where's the energy now, Jim, and positive reinforcement?

Example:  Chris Evans is fun to watch!  Kenny Allen booming kickoffs and 51-yarder!!  De'Veon Smith, Jabrill Peppers, and many others, bring everything they have and that is a lot.  (Harbaugh said that himself, once.)  Nice interception and seemingly great coverage, Channing Stribling.

The Michigan defense played great and Akrum Wadley played lights out.  The pocket was collapsing all game and their receivers were covered; Iowa had no quarterback runs or passes.

The loss was as much on you as anyone, JH.  For the first time since you've been at Michigan, "your team" (see above transcript) didn't adjust on offense and barely scored; sweeps and Peppers runs are telegraphed.  You were beat by special teams and field position.  Your end of game playcalling and clock management let the team and fans down.

They are young men doing their best and improving, so it is rare that we play the blame game here.  If you want to be NFL players instead of college students, get used to it.  I'll try and keep it to the that was dumb or you should know better variety.

Devin Bush, in college he is down.  Khalid Hill, you are not Jabrill Peppers.  Linebackers Mike McCray, Ben Gideon, and Jabrill Peppers, who definitely bring it all, missed tackles (everyone did; Wadley was great).  Wilton Speight fumbled and got away with several dropped interceptions; he had quite a few bad throws.  Jehu Chesson, Amara Darboh, and Jake Butt dropped passes.  Mike McCray, don't grab the head at all and there won't be a facemask penalty.  Bryan Mone, personal fouls are dumb.

Sometimes Jim Harbaugh can be too intense.  Has that ever been said or written before?

Michigan still has the number one scoring defense!

(More exit interviews.)

For the rest of the week it will be fun to watch the interviews and expand on this.  There is no more "I was misquoted" or "that was taken out of context."  You can see it for yourself.

I know because I've done that.  For this season and going back to most of last year, Michigan's games have been blowout.  It is myopic and boring just hearing the coachspeak from your own team--it is fun, and probably the best version of the truth, to see what your opponents have to say.  Almost always they are funny; sometimes they are self-depreciating.  You can also see if they are good sports about it, for if they aren't, given the videos, it is going to get blown up.

It is hard, really hard to have cameras pointed flat in your face after a game--just a game--like that.  It is a fact:  Harbaugh is something less than gracious.
